Shipping Policy

Insured. Tracked. Signature-required.

All MIKAELS pieces ship from the atelier. Each shipment is insured to the full sale value, tracked, and signature-required on delivery.

1. Processing time

  • Editions and stock pieces: shipped within 4 working days of payment.
  • Truly Bespoke commissions: timeline agreed per piece, confirmed in writing before fabrication.

2. Methods and transit times

  • European Union: 2–5 working days, fully insured, signature-required.
  • United Kingdom, United States, Switzerland: 4–7 working days, fully insured, signature-required, customs paperwork prepared on your behalf.
  • Rest of the world: 5–10 working days, insured, signature-required.

We use a small number of fine-jewelry-trusted carriers and select the route per shipment. You receive the tracking number by email the moment the parcel leaves the atelier.

3. Cost

Standard insured shipping is included in the price for all orders shipped within the EU. International orders outside the EU show the shipping cost at checkout based on destination.

4. Customs, duties and VAT

For shipments outside the EU, the recipient is responsible for any import duties, taxes, or customs fees levied by the destination country. We declare the full sale value on customs paperwork — under-declaration would invalidate the insurance. For shipments within the EU, all VAT is included in the displayed price.

5. Delivery and signature

Pieces will only be released to the recipient on signature. Please provide an address where someone is available to sign during business hours. We cannot ship to PO boxes for insured high-value shipments. If a delivery is missed, the carrier leaves a card with collection or redelivery instructions.

6. Lost or damaged in transit

If a shipment arrives damaged, photograph the packaging before opening it and email contact@mikaels.co within 48 hours of delivery. If a shipment is lost in transit, we file the insurance claim and remake or refund the piece at no further cost to you.

7. Delays beyond our control

Customs holds, severe weather and carrier strikes can occasionally delay a shipment. We monitor every parcel until delivery and update you proactively if anything stalls. These delays do not extend any warranty or return window.
